Meal and Snack Practices
Children are served nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with the guidelines set by
the CCAFP national food program. All meals are prepared based on the Food Guide
Pyramid. The pyramid lists (3) basic requirements for a healthy diet: variety, moderation
and proportion. It outlines which foods should be eaten daily and are part of a nutritious
diet. A serving consists of approximately one tablespoon of each food per year of life.
